Export sharepoint list to csv using flow

However, I was trying to kick a flow that once an item is generated that it would convert the list to excel and send it via email to the person. I've seen where you can convert a library but I haven't seen anything about a list.

Go to Solution. Currently, we could export all the items from the list as csv file or html table, but it is not possible to export the list items to an Excel file directly.

However, if you have a template Excel table on OneDrive for Business or SharePoint library, please take the following workaround for a reference. In my scenario, there is an Excel table on OneDrive for Business, which is used to store data from the list.

Whenever a new item is created in the list, insert the item into the Excel, then get the data from OneDrive for business and send it as an attachment to a person via email. View solution in original post. Click for the top entries. Skip to main content.

Now I know I could have used PowerShell but not everyone is an admin. This approach can be used for a range of queries and cases e. The post demonstrates several key concepts in Flow:. It is worth noting that the Flow uses SharePoint actions that run using the context of the user running the Flow. I have used a manual trigger to initiate the Flow. Manual triggers are great as they allow you to test a Flow without the added complication of a waiting for a trigger action like a Recurrence or forcing it to run a when a new file is added.

The first ten actions are all about preparation for the Do Until loop. It is the Do Until loop that gathers the search results and processes them ready for saving. The reason why I perform this action is to get an estimate for the number of results that will be returned in the Do Until loop.

If you are familiar with using Search through the user interface then you will have seen two key principles of Search namely result estimation and paging:. You might have seen that when you perform a search in SharePoint the number of results can vary as you advance through the pages. Typically the estimate gets more accurate as you advance through the pages.

The second principle is that you do not get all of the results at once. Each page contains a defined number of results — usually 30 if the person setting up the page accepts the default value. This is no different for the HTTP request.

SharePoint will return an estimate and the first 10 results unless you refine the search query. The estimate is on the high side of the final number so we can use that to define the number of blocks we need to return and the number of loops we need to use. The query URI is:. The unencoded version is:. Encoding replaces URL-unsafe characters with escape characters. If the trimduplicates parameter is omitted then SharePoint will exclude duplicates by default i. This will grossly underestimate the number of results for a search designed to return sites as results.

It will also produce estimated counts that vary in number as you page through them. The Flow includes a Create HTML table action that you can use to see this effect in action see later in the post for details. To see the difference set trimduplicates to true in the query contained in the Do Until loop and then inspect the table.Over the last few weeks I have seen quite a few people asking questions about comparing two lists, synchronising lists and importing data into SharePoint lists.

I want to control the import of my data by setting a document property. This property is called Import Status. Once this status has been set to Ready the flow will start to process my data and create SharePoint lists item or update the lists items when they already exist.

In this case I probably could use just a condition, however I might extend my flow with some additional actions in the new branch and the processed branch. I could for example email someone informing them that the process is complete when the import status is set to Processed. Read large excel files within seconds without creating tables using Microsoft Graph. At this point of got an array of items available and read from Excel ready to update the data in my SharePoint list. This way it will be easier to refer my data later on in my flow.

I typically use the unique field in the list that identifies item for me. For lookup lists this can be as simple as the title of the items.

Now we are ready to create SharePoint list items. We only want to update items when there is something to update in my SharePoint list item. Could you share a screen shot of the full flow because I was not sure if I missed some steps. I did not understand how or why you created the compose part of the apply to each step. This is exactly the solution I needed and looks like a great solution but I got a little lost. Hi Brandon, Can you email me the screen shots of the flow in edit mode and run history.

Can you email me the screenshots of the flow to better understand the logic, so that I can implement it on my end? How do you get the import status doc property set up.
